10 Minute washing machine tissue rescue!

Simple hack removes tissue debris from washed clothes in just ‘10 minutes’

Is there anything worse than opening the washer door and seeing loads of white soggy tissue pieces all over the clean laundry? One way to prevent this from happening is to make sure to check pockets before putting clothes in the washing machine. Also, using a lint roller or tape before washing can help remove any remaining debris. Additionally, running an empty load with just vinegar and baking soda can help clean out the washing machine and prevent debris build-up.

A rogue tissue stuffed into a pocket can wreak havoc in the washing machine. Dark clothing can end up covered in small bits of tissue and fluff. Removing the tissue by hand can be laborious and washing the clothes again does not always guarantee that the tissue debris will be removed.

Popping the laundry in the tumble dryer is simple for those who own a tumble dryer. However, tumble dryers are costly to run and not everyone owns one or wants to use them during the cost-of-living crisis. The bill rises are shocking! So, what do you do?

One way to prevent this from happening is to make sure to check pockets before putting clothes in the washing machine. Easily said than done when you are a full-time working parent will a million and one things to do or maybe you’re a young working couple with lots on your mind. We have all been there and popped a sneaky tissue in the wash. A quick cheap way would be, using a lint roller or a little tape can help remove any remaining debris. Even a simple trick of using 4 aspirin to mix with a sink of warm water can be an effective way to remove tissue debris from clothing. The aspirin's acidity helps to break down the debris, making it easier to remove. Soaking the clothing in the solution for a couple of hours, then rinsing and hanging it to dry will help without having to put it back n the machine. It's important to note that this method is not suitable for all types of fabrics.! So check what the item is made from before trying this. It's best to test the solution on a small, inconspicuous area before using it on the entire garment.
