What to bring to your interview

To avoid a nightmare, it's crucial to start preparing for your interview as soon as we contact you. Use this comprehensive checklist as your guide to ensure you're fully equipped to make an outstanding first impression during your interview. By following these steps, you'll arrive prepared and ready to shine.

Here's what you should bring to your interview:

  1. Portfolio Folder: Keep all your essential documents organised and presentable in a professional folder.
This shows your attention to detail and organisational skills.
  2. Multiple Copies of Your Resume: Don't assume the interviewer has a copy of your resume. Bring extra copies just in case.
  3. Multiple copies of you Resume: Although your resume should include your contact information, we need to see and have a copy of your address. The letter must be dated within the last three months.
  4. References: Have a list of references ready, including their contact information, in case the interviewer requests them. Can not be a family member or one of our current employees.
  5. Pen and Notepad: Essential for jotting down notes and showing your engagement during the interview.
  6. Prepared Questions: Display your interest and understanding of the company by asking thoughtful questions about our values, challenges, and culture.
  7. Talking Points: Prepare anecdotes or key achievements that highlight your strengths and relate to the job you're applying for.
  8. Identification: Ensure you have any necessary identification such as a drivers License, Passport or an ID card for security information required to access the interview location. We sometimes hire office space to conduct training and interviews. But we also need to check that you are who you say you are.
Please bring originals and photocopies of these; we need to see the original document and require copies to add to your file. These are great proofs of Identification and other forms of proof of address.
  9. Right to work documents: We must check by law that a job applicant is allowed to work in the UK before we employ them.

We can:

  1. A Positive Attitude and Smile: Show enthusiasm and positivity—your demeanour matters as much as your qualifications.

What NOT to bring to an interview:

  • Distracting Items: Avoid bringing anything that could divert attention or disrupt the flow of the interview, such as gum, food, or drinks. Keep your phone on silent.
  • Emotional Support: Best leave mum, dad or your bestie at home, we understand the need for moral support but they can do that without being physically with you. It can pose health & safety or security risks for the venues we use, we are not just being mean.

Remember, while it's essential to come prepared, what you communicate during the interview is crucial. Craft your responses thoughtfully and effectively to leave a lasting impression.

Focus on presenting your best self and make your interview an opportunity to shine!

Remember; just breath

Just to let you know, any offer of employment is contingent upon and subject to the receipt of satisfactory references and satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service check and evidence of your eligibility to work in the United Kingdom or proof of your qualifications.

Please also note that you will be subject to a probationary period of 6 months that will only be completed once you are informed of this in writing.

We are not Cash in Hand Employers, you will have your salaries paid monthly into your bank account and will receive a wage slip with your PAYE information.
